Aldo Rossi once said: “This is the window; I like this window”.

This window has no meaning. It is a series of parts composed in a certain way, contributing to a formal and spatial character.

Consider the light and colours that pass through that window, changing the feel of the internal space. The sun’s warmth, the cloud’s neutrality, a breeze carrying the scent of eucalypt inwards and freshly poured coffee outwards – the gaze is drawn back through that window; a sense of the sublime or a calm among the trees.

Architecture here is understood as a composition of objects and space engaging with its context. My photographic work documents these objects, and the place around them, conveying their spatial qualities and atmospheres. Subtle nuances are embraced, translating an experience into a visual record, from the overall design and dialogue with context to the finer, finessed elements.
