Aldo Rossi once said: “This is the window; I like this window”.
This window has no meaning. It is a series of parts composed in a certain way, contributing to a formal and spatial character.
Consider the light and colours that pass through that window, changing the feel of the internal space. The sun’s warmth, the cloud’s neutrality, a breeze that carries the scent of eucalypt inwards and freshly poured coffee outwards - these elements draw our gaze back through that window, evoking a sense of the sublime or calm among the trees.
For me, Architecture simply exists. It is a composition of objects and space engaging with its environment. My photographic work documents these objects and the space around them, reflecting their spatial qualities and atmospheres. Subtle nuances are embraced as I translate an experience into a visual record - from an overall design and dialogue with its context, to the finer, finessed elements.
